The Tumor, Node, Metastasis (TNM) staging system is a widely used framework for classifying the extent and spread of cancer in a standardized and consistent manner. Developed and maintained by the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) and the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), the TNM system provides a common language for healthcare professionals to describe and communicate the characteristics of cancer cases.
