Enterobiasis, also known as pinworm infection, is a common parasitic infection caused by the roundworm Enterobius vermicularis. It primarily affects children and is spread through the ingestion of pinworm eggs. The main symptom is itching around the anus, particularly at night, and sometimes mild abdominal pain. It is usually treated with medication, good hygiene practices, and thorough cleaning of clothes and bedding to prevent reinfection.
