The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of the storage temperature and stretch polyvinylchloride (PVC) film on the loss of fresh weight and water, on the development of chilling injury symptoms, and on the postharvest metabolism of carbohydrates, in arracacha tuber roots (Arracacia xanthorrhiza).
O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência da temperatura de armazenamento e do uso do filme de cloreto de polivinila (PVC) sobre a perda de matéria fresca e água, incidência de danos causados por frio e metabolismo pós-colheita dos carboidratos, em raízes tuberosas de mandioquinha-salsa (Arracacia xanthorrhiza).
The systems that were studied for polymers are: benzene + polystyrene, hexane + polystyrene, benzene + polymethylmethacrylate, benzene + polyethylmethacrylate, hexane + polyvinylchloride and water + polyvinylchloride. with all the systems to a temperature of 30ºC and 40 ºC. The systems with copolymers are: hexane + poly (21% acrylonitryle-co-butadiene), hexane + poly(33% acrylonitryle-co-butadiene), hexane + poli(51% acrylonitryle-co-butadiene), all 60ºC and hexane + poly(23% styrene-co-butadiene), hexane + poly(45% styrene-co-butadiene) and benzene + poly(44% styrene-co-methylmethacrylate) to a temperature of 70ºC. In order to determination of the data vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) was used an experimental equipment that if based on the technique of the gravimetric sorption, that is appropriate for rich solutions in polymers and poor in solvents.
Os sistemas estudados para os polímeros foram: benzeno + poliestireno, hexano + poliestireno, benzeno + polimetacrilato de metila, benzeno + polimetacrilato de etila, hexano + policloreto de vinila e água + policloreto de vinila, sendo utilizadas em todos os sistemas duas temperaturas, 30ºC e 40ºC. Para fazer a determinação dos dados de equilíbrio líquido-vapor (ELV) foi utilizada uma aparelhagem experimental que se baseia na técnica da absorção gravimétrica, que é apropriada para soluções ricas em soluto e pobres em solvente.
