In the case of gear progression, i.e. during a change from a lower gear to a higher gear, the drive shaft 6 has to be slowed down to equalise the angular speed 1 of the primary shaft 13 at the time of closing the power assisted clutch 15, whereas in the case of gear downshift, i.e. during a change from a higher gear to a lower gear, the drive shaft 6 has to be accelerated to equalise the angular speed 1 of the primary shaft 13 at the time of closing the power assisted clutch 15.
